I first met Matthew, who owns The Pao Cafe along with his wife Barbara, at a liberty convention called Keenevention in New Hampshire, USA. They operate their Brazilian-inspired cafe in Newmarket, NH, and were the very first restaurant in the State to begin accepting Bitcoin.
We can hardly contain ourselves each time we hear of a new business that is accepting Bitcoin as payment! The more places we can spend our bitcoins, the more its utility & infrastructure grow.
Here on the blog, we’ll be featuring a new business two times each month. We’ll tell you a little about the beginning of the business, their vision for the future, and ultimately why they began accepting Bitcoin. We’ll also showcase some of their products or services, in case you’d like to check them out yourselves. Our hope is that businesses who have embraced Bitcoin can show other businesses & entrepreneurs the benefits (and simplicity) of doing so.
CES week has come to a close, and this year Blockchain was there!
We shacked up with BitPay & Butterfly Labs. Aside from us three, the only other Bitcoin company we know that had a presence at CES2014 was KNC Miner. It was a small space, but we were all extremely excited to speak to newbies and enthusiasts alike. We took photos and have some fun tidbits to share with you! If you couldn’t make it to CES, we hope this gives you a glimpse into how much fun we had sharing Bitcoin with the tech world.
We have been anticipating this moment for quite some time. Back in November 2013, our wallet service reached 500,000 wallets. We announced we’d be giving away a 10 bitcoin prize to the 500,000th wallet creator. Their response for winning was nothing short of awesome.
Just over two months later, we’re happy to announce that we’ve reached one million wallets!
Blockchain.info is excited to introduce our team blog!
We’ll be using this blog to connect with anyone using Blockchain’s services: our wallet, stats, charts, and our block chain explorer. Feel free to check back at this blog for the latest news from us, including anything press-related, or personal updates we’d like to share.
2013 has been an amazing year for Blockchain, and this blog will be an easier way for us to connect with our users! Blockchain team members will all be contributing to this blog — it will be a unique way to hear from all of us.
We thank you for your continued support — we’re so excited for 2014!
PS – Merry Christmas 😉
