Meet Our Team: Phil, Franklin, & Antoine

We’re already almost through with Q1 2016, and it’s been a pretty exciting year so far. Bitcoin has been gaining momentum all over the world, and we love being able to fill you in on the news from week to week. We announced the new Blockchain Wallet in February, our mobile update a month later, and have also incorporated dynamic fees. With that we’d like to introduce three new team members who have helped make all these great changes possible.

Phil spent his last two college years specializing in economics, web design and development. He managed to balance the craziness of college with being a two-sport athlete, as captain of the men’s soccer team and #1 singles in tennis. His first intro to full stack development was during a Dev Bootcamp in Spring 2014. Prior to Blockchain, he was Head of Frontend Development at Born Group, where he managed a dev team of five and worked on projects for clients like DKNY and Red Bull. Phil currently enjoys playing golf, and at our NYC Office he actively maintains his reign as Office Ping Pong Champion. Despite choosing a career path focused more on development over economics, he prides himself on making wise financial decisions from a very young age. This includes his first ever album purchase at 10 years old: Missy Elliot’s So Addicted. He stands by this decision to this day.

Franklin joins our strategy team with a background in economics, and over two years of experience as a financial analyst. Bitcoin caught his interest a couple years back, so he was extremely excited at the opportunity to jump into a career in the industry. Franklin’s accomplishments outside of finance involve Rubik’s cube competitions, rebuilding his college debate team, and an interesting fusion of music. Specifically, he played the cello for 15 years and considers himself to be a walking encyclopedia of metal music, from subgenres like proto-metal to obscure genres in Scandinavia.

Before joining us as Engineering Intern, Antoine already had a great deal of interest in data on the Bitcoin blockchain. In July 2014 he built, a site that tracks an assortment of blockchain metrics including transaction types, fee estimation, and block size. Antoine is also working on completing his Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering, with a specialization in Data Mining. During his studies, he helped develop and launch Rhizome, an ISP that provides affordable and secure Internet access for students.

We have a bunch of open positions in New York and London. Check out all the open roles here. You can also learn more about Blockchain by visiting our about us page.
