**5 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BITCOIN YOUR WAY TO HAPPY HOUR**
**ONE**.  VENUE.

On Kingsland Road in a decommissioned train station, the Old Shoreditch Station café and bar in London’s “Silicon Roundabout” tech hub focuses on great coffee during the day and on whiskeys, wines and specialty beers in the night.  Consisting of three open areas, it hosts design lead exhibits, pop-up shops, product launches, intimate gigs and has become a popular venue for private parties and exclusive events.  With numerous options available for functions, from full venue private hire, pop-up retail showcase or a simple area reservation, Blockchain is a loyal local client for Team Happy Hour!

**TWO. **ORDER THIS!

The folks at the Old Shoreditch Station specialize in making locally roasted and freshly ground fair trade coffee.  Trained baristas on-site ensure consistency and a high-quality cup of coffee every time.  The menu also features a wide selection of teas from Tea Pigs, homemade iced teas, and a range of specially sourced soft drinks and juices designed to help you get through your working day.

From afternoon into the late hours, the bar is open for specialist beers, fair trade and organic wines, and specially sourced exclusive spirits.  If you are a whiskey snob, the Old Shoreditch Station is the place to wind down a long day at work to an exquisite whiskey selection.  A Blockchain favorite is the Old Shoreditch Fashioned with whiskey, honey syrup, bitters and coffee.  My personal favorite is the refreshing Straw Bear with portobello road gin, homemade cucumber and mint juice, honey syrup, and lemon juice.

Food is prepared daily with fresh ingredients including sandwiches and salads.  For wine lovers, it is imperative to pair the wine with the charcuterie plates, including a handpicked selection of cheeses and meats with olives and bread.  A selection of croissants, viennoises, Danish pastries, and muffins are available at the counter, as well as a small selection of healthy bars and chocolate treats.

THREE.  BITCOIN ADOPTION.

In 2013, JaguarShoes Collective founder and café owner Nick Letchford decided to accept bitcoin payments.  “I am quite a sci-fi enthusiast and well, immediately I was captivated by the idea of it. I saw it as very much the way forward,” Letchford told CNN’s Nina Dos Santos, during an interview at the café.  “I mean, a virtual currency or a digital currency is definitely the way the future of finance is headed,” he said.

“We are a forward-thinking business and have always prided ourselves on supporting all things progressive, be it products, artists or brands.  Also, I am a big nerd and I love the idea of living in a Star Trek-like unified future – a borderless currency seemed like a step in the right direction,” said Letchford.  At Old Shoreditch Station, you can purchase anything!  Art, retail product, coffee, whiskey or beer, it’s quick and easy.  Bitcoin transactions are currently accepted across Letchford’s venues, including a fashion store, Old Shoreditch Shop, fine art gallery Seventeen, quintessential Shoreditch bar, and exhibition space DreamBagsJaguarShoes.

**FOUR.  **AWESOME ART.

The space offers rotating art exhibits featuring fashion, illustration, design or photography on a six to eight week timetable. Follow their social medial to keep current with upcoming events.

FIVE.  BLOCKCHAIN MERCHANT.

The staff at the Old Shoreditch Station has fully adjusted to accepting bitcoin payments using the Blockchain Merchant App!  “To be honest, its as easy as doing a credit card transaction!” Letchford added.
