Our experiences and reflections on #bitcoinmiami

miami13A truly phenomenal gathering of innovation and inspiring energy engulfed Miami Beach during the weekend of January 25-26, for the North American Bitcoin Conference. From the BitPay-sponsored shuttle rides around the city (we sure hope you tipped!), to the words spoken during talks at the Miami Convention Center, the reason why people attended was clear: Bitcoin isn’t going away anytime soon, and it is a technology that offers the ability for each of us to contribute to world-changing potential.

The Blockchain team (at least a generous handful of us) were united for the very first time in Miami. This gave us an opportunity to collaborate and plan our future roadmap, over delicious food and amazing scenery. We gave away Blockchain t-shirts, pins, & stickers during the BitPay-sponsored pre-party, as well as at the event. Blockchain swag will be exclusive to events and giveaways, until we announce otherwise! If you were unable to attend the conference in Miami, check out some photos of our experiences!

We’d like to thank the organizers of this event; the opportunity was given to many Bitcoin-startups and pioneers to showcase their contributions to the community. Based on our observations, a major overlying theme of the conference was the need to education not only the public, but also major financial regulators. It’s no secret that Bitcoin has been demonized for the same troubles seen with using cash, but traditional banking will quickly become obsolete unless regulators educate themselves on the value and utility of the Bitcoin network, & math-based digital currencies. Innovators at this event are at the cutting-edge of what has the potential to bring Bitcoin mainstream; we want to remain at the forefront as a leader in Bitcoin services and Bitcoin education.
